Southampton are banned from the play-off final in the Championship. The decision comes after they admitted to spying on several opponents since December. The club’s main three, Tonda Eckert, is said to have had a great influence on the handling of the espionage. In Germany, it is said to be common practice to spy on opponents’ training sessions, but wisely illegal in England. For the Southampton players, the opportunity to play next season in the Premier League is thus snatched. This could create protests that could cost the club dearly.

Because according to The Guardian , it could end with the Southampton players suing their own club.
There are reports of anger in Southampton’s dressing room, the next step could be for players to go to the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) and get advice on how promotion would have changed the players’ financial situation. The expectation would be that the players could look forward to increased wages, bonuses and promotion bonuses if they had a place in next season’s Premier League.
Now this chaotic story has not ended. Southampton have appealed the ruling, and the appeal is expected to be heard on Wednesday. A new change could postpone the final to a later date than Saturday.
