While Liverpool are surging on (we overlook the miss against Manchester United at Anfield), Liverpool fans are eagerly awaiting how many of the super trio of Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold will wear the red shirt next season. The Liverpool captain went from being completely silent about the process of extension/exit Liverpool, to saying before Christmas how much he loves the club and the supporters. Even so, no extension signed, in the last six days Van Dijk’s agent has been able to openly negotiate with other clubs.
According to Relevo, van Dijk’s agent has knocked on Real Madrid’s door and offered the signing of the Liverpool captain in the summer. The Spanish media claims Real Madrid quickly declined.
Due to his age (33), the Liverpool captain does not fit into the strategy of Real Madrid.
For Liverpool supporters, this means that one of the few doors Van Dijk wanted to enter outside Anfield is closed. This smells of extension.
