Now it’s fast approaching the Premier League season, folks. A summer packed with World Cup matches and celebrations is out of the body, now the world’s toughest league is once again getting ready to get us to play on the full range of emotions. A special change from last season is that a record number of clubs start with a completely new coach.
The previous record was eight new head coaches at the start of the 2016/17 season, at the start of this year’s season the record is broken.

For this time, as many as 9 out of 20 clubs start with a new coach on the sidelines. In the first round alone, there are three games with 100 percent new managers, when Fulham face Chelsea, Manchester City host Bournemouth and Liverpool visit Newcastle.
The nine clubs are: Bournemouth, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Ipswich Town, and Newcastle becomes the ninth club to change manager after Eddie Howe resigned.

This could mean that the 2026/27 Premier League season has a significant dose of “uncertainty” around new managers and “new football”. This can open up for surprises in positions on the table. Exciting!
