The hub in Malmö FF’s midfield in midfield Sergio Pena is on his way to the Greek big club Paok. The reigning Allsvenskan champions have no choice if the sale goes through and have to change their midfield.

Now Aftonbladet reports that MFF have their eyes set on Sparta Prague’s Markus Solbakken. The 24-year-old was signed to the Czech capital club a year ago for around 2.5 million euros, but has had problems with playing time at Sparta.

Malmö initially made contact with the midfielder and Sparta about a possible transfer. According to the newspaper, Solbakken has several foreign stakeholders, but must see MFF as a good alternative for his future.

In Sweden, Solbakken will be teammates with Colin Rösler, Lasse Berg Johnsen, Oliver Berg and Erik Botheim if there is a deal.

Markus Solbakken is the son of the Norwegian national team manager Ståle Solbakken and grew up in HamKam. The Norwegian has previously also represented Stabæk and Viking.
