Tottenham have had a miserable Premier League start. Unfortunately, nothing unusual for the London club, but when you have burned almost £400 million on new players and have Roberto de Zerbi as coach, then the situation is in the category of crisis. The Italian coach is doing everything possible to reverse the leaden trend at the bottom of the Premier League table, now it is the mobile phone that must be put aside.

During a training camp in Marbella recently, De Zerbi worked specifically on the cohesion of the squad. The biggest time thief, which does the opposite of building cohesion with those around you, had to be removed.

“We worked on the training ground, and we spent time together. We removed the cell phones during breakfast, lunch and dinner so we could be together. Today, people are with their phones all the time,” De Zerbi begins, according to ESPN.

However, the mobile phone ban was not the only measure to strengthen the unity of the crisis-stricken squad.

“We had two or three important meetings where we talked about football, our situation and how everyone should take responsibility. In addition, there were some dinners just for the players and some just for the staff. As a coach, you know that you have to improve and change the situation. That’s why you try to find all possible solutions,” says the Italian, and states that there was also room for personal relaxation for the players, De Zerbi explains.
