Oliver Glasner left trophies for the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League in the premiership, when he left Crystal Palace in the summer. Jørgen Strand Larsen got to join in on the last fun, this season it was Pierre Sage who would lift the London club further. Seven games into the Premier League season, it is reported that the club has started on its replacement list.

It was an extra lead-heavy Sunday for Jørgen Strand Larsen, Sage and Crystal Palace. The trip went to the seaside resort of Brighton, but here everything but holiday fun awaited the big city club with a humiliating 5-0. Sage faces a battle to save his job after the blow against bitter rivals Brighton & Hove Albion. According to Teamtalk, Palace are already exploring possible options.

The Eagles searched for a long time for their new manager over the summer before finally persuading Sage to leave surprise French side Lens and take over in south London. While there was an acceptance that the transfer would take time, Sunday’s derby loss has made senior managers deeply concerned about the direction of the team, it is reported.

With only two Premier League wins, Strand Larsen and the gang are in 14th place on the Premier League table. Equal to Manchester United’s score, but as we know, it is no longer a stamp of quality.

Publicly, Palace of course still support their coach, but according to TEAMtalk’s cliché , work is being done behind the scenes to put a list of potential replacements ahead of chairman Steve Parish and the club’s hierarchy.

One name on the radar is Rob Edwards, who is admired by former Wolves boss Matt Hobbs. Hobbs is believed to be a big fan of the Welshman, making Edwards a potential candidate if Palace decide to change direction.

Former West Ham United and Fulham boss Scott Parker is another figure who is well-respected. Parker’s experience in English football and his previous work at Premier League level mean that he is a name that could appeal should Palace decide that a change is necessary.

Parish is also said to be rooting for former Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, who left Portman Road in the summer. McKenna received significant recognition for his work at Ipswich, where he led the club through successive promotions from League One to the Premier League.

For Strand Larsen, it is now about delivering against Besiktas in the Europa League to give himself and Sage some breathing space.
