Last season, Ange Postecoglou lifted the highly anticipated trophy. The problem was that the title came in the Europa League, while the Premier League was sacrificed. “I just wanted to make it very clear that the season has been completely unacceptable. The men’s team should never, ever be involved in a relegation battle. That is so far below the standard this football club should have. And I know that it has been incredibly difficult for our supporters. It has been exhausting. It has been painful. And it’s simply been embarrassing,” the Tottenham boss begins, according to Football-London.

“It’s simply not a place this club should ever be again. So first of all, I want to thank our fans for standing behind the team until the end of the season. It has been absolutely crucial. Both home and away, the team has really felt the support, and they have really appreciated it. I know the club has grown a lot in the last decade, but I have to say it the way I experienced it. I think you can say that the club was in a much worse condition from the inside than I thought when I saw it from the outside. Therefore, it was also a much bigger challenge than I expected, the boss concludes.
