There was no “Thomas Frank effect” in the Premier League. Definitely no “Igor Tudor effect”, either. Roberto de Zerbi’s signing also had no immediate effect with a 1-0 loss to Sunderland, but this weekend Tottenham have secured a point against Brighton in the 2-2 draw. This did not lift Spurs above the relegation line, but De Zerbi promises the supporters, if not gold and green forests, then five games that can all be won.
Tottenham were actually on their way to three points, but were felled by Brighton’s injury time equaliser. The Spurs manager acknowledges the extreme situation the club is in with a real threat of relegation, but has seen over the past week what the squad has to offer.

“We have five games left, it’s difficult, we all know it’s a difficult time, a difficult situation, but we have five games left, 15 points (to play for) and this team is capable of winning five games in a row,” said an attacking De Zerbi according to Sky Sports.
