Sandro Tonali chose not only Tottenham, but play for Roberto de Zerbi, the coach who hails from the same city as Tonali. De Zerbi promises Spurs supporters that the sought-after Newcastle player is exactly the player Tottenham need in midfield.
The club record was broken, with what could end up at £100 million. There is little doubt Tottenham’s Italian coach pushed – and was crucial to this signing.

“Sandro is a special player and a fantastic addition to our club. I have followed him for a long time, since he came through the youth academy of my hometown club, Brescia, and I am very happy to now have the opportunity to work with him,” De Zerbi begins to the club’s website.
“With the qualities he possesses, there was a lot of interest in Sandro this summer. However, he made it very clear that he wanted to move to Tottenham and I’m sure our fans will love what he will bring to the team,” the Tottenham coach concludes.
