Last season, Ange Postecoglou was the new coach who shook up Premier League opponents in the first months of the season. The Australian picked up “Manager of the Month” awards in a row, the season ended in an approved 5th place in the Premier League. Then came the always difficult second season, now Postecoglou is fighting to keep his job. If he holds out until the end of the season, there is a very exciting signing underway before next season.

Caughtoffside’s sources claim Tottenham are aiming for the signing of a central midfielder who is described in one word: “Impressive!”

The 24-year-old Rickhard Rios has 19 games in the Colombian national team shirt, last summer he helped Colombia all the way to the final of the Copa America. Rios has recently signed a new contract with Brazilian side Palmerias until 2028, but is said to have an exit door in the contract with a buyout clause of 100 million euros.

Caughtoffside’s sources report Spurs were determined to sign Rios in January, but foundered in initial talks as Palmeiras were adamant about demanding full payment of a buyout clause for the €14 million player (transfermarkt).

However, various strategies are being worked on in London, with a potential player plus a cash deal. Rios is definitely a player Tottenham see will make a big difference in midfield.
