Bodø/Glimt have been exceptionally good at both selling players for big money while continuing to deliver results. Tromsø, on the other hand, has not had as much luck as their rival in the north or is it conceivable that they have simply learned. – Now Tromsø seems to have shot the golden bird.
Before the season in March last year, Tromsø bought the Senegalese centre-back Mamadou Barry from Academy Mawade Wade for 85,000 euros, now a bid has been received from Belgian Union Saint-Gilloise with a total package of around 3 million euros.
Tromsø had a season on the edge of the cliff. – They avoided the qualification place on goal difference. Tromsø has been in the Eliteserien consistently in recent years except for the 2020 season where they were down in the OBOS-Liga.
Manager Sébastien Pocognoli, who came to the club in the summer after leading Belgium’s U18 national team, has been told to look for talent in Scandinavia. – The 37-year-old manager himself is said to have been a driving force in landing a transfer, now he will probably succeed in landing the 19-year-old talent.
TV 2 reports that the parties have agreed on the final details of a transfer, and that now only the personal details remain for Mamadou Barry and a trip to the doctor.
Mamadou Barry has played 15 games in the Eliteserien.
