The Netherlands can secure top spot in Group F with a win overhttps://live.sporten.com/match/tunisia-netherlands-2026-06-25/ Tunisia tomorrow night – and midfielder Tijjani Reijnders believes there is still room for improvement, despite the 5-1 crushing of Sweden.

Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey was the big inspiration in this weekend’s Swedish game with two goals, and gave the team the kind of striker presence they lacked in the opening game’s 2-2 draw with Japan.

The Netherlands and Japan are both four points atop Group F, with the team finishing highest likely to avoid Brazil in the first knockout stages.

Before tomorrow’s match against Tunisia, Reijnders told the press:

“I think we should stay on the ground and see how each game develops. As the coach said after the Japan game, we had a lot of good periods in that game. Also against Sweden, there were moments where we discussed things that need to be improved.

“If we do things like that against a stronger team, they become even more dangerous. We must also not get carried away after a 5-1 victory. We should not think that we will now be champions, or that it is a guarantee that we will reach the final. There are still many areas to improve.

Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has led the team for over three years now and has used a stable group. Reijnders was full of praise for the way the former Barcelona defender and coach is acting.

“The coach is very direct. He says things as they are. For a player, it’s nice to have that clarity. If something is good, it’s good. If something is bad, it’s bad. That’s the clarity a player wants,” Reijnders said.

Tunisia has already lost the opportunity to qualify after heavy losses to Sweden and Japan. The opening loss saw Sabri Lamouchi sacked, but the hiring of the highly experienced Hervé Renard failed to turn things around.

Brobbey struggled with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to be risked. Quinten Timber is back in the matchday squad after a concussion.
