According to Corriere dello Sport , a move to Fiorentina is close for Thorstvedt. Last season, the club finished behind Sassoulo’s 11th, but as recently as the 2024/25 season, Fiorentina grabbed 6th place and the Conference League ticket.

Fabio Grosso is the coach of Fiorentina, before the transfer in June he just managed Sassuolo – with Thorstvedt in the starting eleven. In other words, Thorstvedt is a player handpicked by the new Fiorentina coach.
