Kristian Thorstvedt was part of the fun in the World Cup, now the 27-year-old has chosen to seek more action outside Sassuolo. Thorstvedt has played for the club since 2022, now the coach confirms the Norwegian international has given notice that he wants to exit.

According to Corriere dello Sport , a move to Fiorentina is close for Thorstvedt. Last season, the club finished behind Sassoulo’s 11th, but as recently as the 2024/25 season, Fiorentina grabbed 6th place and the Conference League ticket.
Fabio Grosso is the coach of Fiorentina, before the transfer in June he just managed Sassuolo – with Thorstvedt in the starting eleven. In other words, Thorstvedt is a player handpicked by the new Fiorentina coach.
