Things are not looking as good for Manchester City this season as they were last time. Liverpool leads the Premier League after two rounds and Sporting with incoming Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim easily won 4 – 1 at the Estádio José Alvalade on Tuesday in the Champions League.
There is uncertainty about the future of manager Pep Guardiola who seems not to be winning the extension of his contract that expires in the summer, there is also uncertainty about several of the club’s big stars including Erling Braut Haaland who is receiving massive interest from Real Madrid.
Manchester City will not be left with a beard in the mailbox when it comes to either manager Pep Guardiola or the Norwegian goal machine.
Manchester City want to sign an “understudy” for Erling Braut Haaland in January. The striker has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, meanwhile, the Premier League giants are hoping to bring in a secondary striker.
During the summer, Ilkay Gundogan and Savinho were the club’s only signings, as they chose not to replace Julian Alvarez, who left for Atletico Madrid.

As a result, Pep Guardiola is reportedly hoping to bring in another striker during the winter window, according to GiveMeSport. “There is a growing possibility that Manchester City will land a new centre-forward during the winter transfer window.
“Although they turned down the opportunity to make a similar addition to their squad when they were inundated with proposals from agents after Alvarez sealed his exit.”
Sporting director Txiki Begiristain is set to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, with Sporting CP’s Hugo Viana coming in as his replacement.

Haaland replaces Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid
The Norwegian goal machine is reportedly the replacement for Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid, who looks set to leave the club next year. Fichajes reports that the La Liga giants are preparing a €200 million bid for Haaland.
Vini Jr’s contract with Madrid expires in 2027 and he is not interested in extending. The Brazilian seems open to a new challenge and is also upset that he didn’t win the Ballon d’Or. Vinicius Jr is wanted by the Saudi Pro League, as well as Man Utd and PSG, The Times reported last week.
