Neymar did not feature for Brazil in the 1-1 draw against Morocco in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup, after he suffered a new injury almost immediately after arriving for the national team gathering.

The former Barcelona and PSG star has recently returned to training with the rest of his teammates, but it wasn’t enough for him to be considered for selection for Brazil’s upcoming match against Haiti, which kicks off at 01:30 BST on Saturday night.

According to the latest updates from Sky Sport Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Neymar has remained at Brazil’s base camp in New Jersey to continue his rehabilitation efforts, while the rest of the squad has travelled to the match against Haiti, which is being played in Philadelphia.

There is still some optimism that Neymar could be ready to play against Scott McTominay’s Scotland on Wednesday 24 June.
