Petter Hokstad on loan: “A great opportunity to get playing time at a high level”

Egersunds IK and Eidsvold Turn have agreed on a loan agreement that sends Petter Hokstad to the PostNord league. The midfielder will play the last three games before the summer break for a club that is fighting at the top of the table.

Petter Hokstad is packing his bags – for now. Egersunds IK is loaning the midfield talent to Eidsvold Turn, who are in the middle of an intense battle for promotion in the PostNord league.

For Hokstad, the loan means exactly what a young player needs most: match practice and playing time at a high level.

“Tough competition for places”

At Egersund, there is a fierce battle for midfield places. Now Hokstad gets the opportunity to show off in a new shirt.

“We have tough competition for places in midfield, and this is a great opportunity for Petter to get playing time in a good team at a high level. We believe this will be positive for his further development, says Marius Johansen in Egersunds IK.

Three games before the summer

The loan applies to the last three games before the summer break. After that, Hokstad returns to Egersund – hopefully with valuable experience and new matches in his legs.

“We wish Petter the best of luck in Eidsvold Turn and look forward to following his development in the coming weeks,” Johansen adds.

Who is Petter Hokstad?

The 20-year-old midfielder was born on May 2, 2005 and joined Egersund in January 2025. Hokstad has also represented Norway on the U18 national team, where he played two games and scored zero goals. He is left-footed and plays central midfield – a position that is a tough battle for in Egersund.

About Eidsvold Turn – a club with history

Eidsvold Turn was founded all the way back in 1910, then under the name Eidsvold Idrætslag. Already two years later, the club got its current name, Eidsvold Gymnastics Association.

The club is located at Myhrer Stadium in Eidsvoll, which has a capacity of about 3000 spectators. Today, Eidsvold Turn plays several sports, including football, handball, skating and gymnastics – something the club name “Turn” also alludes to.

Fighting at the top of the PostNord league

Eidsvold Turn plays in the PostNord League, Division 2 – Norway’s third highest division. The team has been in the division for three years and has established itself as a serious contender at the top.

So far in the 2026 season, Eidsvold Turn has impressed greatly. In the first nine games, the team stands with seven wins, one draw and only one loss – and a goal difference of a formidable 24-7. After nine rounds, they top the table in Division 2, ahead of teams like Kjelsås and Hønefoss.

In the 2025 season, Eidsvold Turn finished in 6th place in the same division, with 13 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses. This year, they seem to have been raised quite a bit.

The matches that remain before the summer

Eidsvold Turn has three games left before the summer break. First they face Levanger at home on June 14, then Hønefoss away on June 21, before finishing at home against Tromsdalen on June 26. It is precisely these three games that Hokstad will be a part of.

Why the loan is suitable

The fact that Eidsvold Turn is at the top of the table and fighting for promotion, means that Hokstad gets match practice in a winning team with high intensity. For Eidsvold Turn, the loan brings in a young, left-footed midfielder with U18 national team experience – just in a crucial phase of the season.

Now it remains to be seen whether Hokstad will be able to contribute to Eidsvold Turn being able to fight all the way to the top before the holidays.
