It’s no big secret that Tottenham’s owner ENIC Group wants to sell the club because of main owner Joe Lewis’ advanced age and interest in relaxing and drinking port.

The crisis is total, yet the club’s rather lethargic management has chosen to keep the manager. The fans are losing their composure and have started to bring banners that are not exactly positive about what must be one of the most spectacular stadiums in the world. “24 years, 16 managers, 1 trophy. Time for change.”

The price that Tottenham are for sale is between £5 million and £5.5 million, which is a lot for a club that in practice does not win trophies and certainly not as it is now. Ange Postecoglou is not yet to be sacked and the reason is surely his huge parachute. We can’t see any other explanation, this year it’s only Southampton who are doing badly.

In the last five games, Tottenham have only 1 point. After taking the lead against Leicester, Spurs collapsed once again and lost 1-2 at home. As of now, they occupy 15th place in the Premier League.

Tottenham’s position this season has been consistent, that they support Postecoglou and that they will assess his performance as part of a pre-planned evaluation of everything about the season in the summer.

Sources deny the idea that Tottenham are now looking at the Postecoglou position game by game, although results could quickly change the picture, as with Gary O’Neil at Wolves.

Spurs are currently more focused on how best to support Postecoglou in the final days of the window.

Ryan Mason could replace Ange Postecoglou if results don’t change
Tottenham don’t want to make a knee-jerk decision about Postecoglou. Another factor to consider is that the manager’s they might want to replace him is unlikely to be available in the middle of the season.

There is also an acceptance at Spurs that Postecoglou has been very unlucky considering that key players have been injured, with over ten senior players now on the sidelines, several of whom are starters.

Tottenham’s attitude towards Postecoglou has not changed after the Leicester defeat. Despite their league position, they are still fighting for the League Cup and Europa League titles.!! – And not against relegation.

However, if Spurs’ form doesn’t turn around, it’s likely that Spurs will once again turn to Ryan Mason – currently Postecoglou’s assistant – given there are limited managers who will take the Spurs job mid-season.

Club president Daniel Levy, who is incidentally the longest-serving in the Premier League, has become unpopular due to a lack of trophies.
