Alexander Sørloth is said to agree with Juventus on the personal terms and as of before departure for the World Cup, there was only an agreement with Atletico Madrid that remained.
Manager Luciano Spalletti needs a power forward and the almost two-metre-tall Norwegian giant fits in well. But they need to clear space, and now it looks like it will be very difficult.

Last week, the hyperactive transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Alexander Sørloth’s representatives were in dialogue with Juventus. The Italian big club wants to get rid of Dusan Vlahovic in the summer, and in Sørloth they see a new spearhead with both physical weight and goalscoring flair. Now it is also reported that Juventus are negotiating for another giant – this time at the back of the pitch.
The road so far for Alexander Sørloth
For a long time, the “joke” was that Alexander Sørloth succeeds at every other club, but things have really stabilized at a high level. – The reason for often starting on the bench at Atletico Madrid can best be explained by idiocy on the part of manager Diego Simeone. – The frustration that the constant substitution pulse gives has started the search for other hunting grounds. We know Barcelona and his old club Villarreal are considering a transfer and that several clubs in the Premier League have been forward, but bad experience from Crystal Palace without getting a real chance has left its mark.
The Norwegian national team striker has had an extraordinary career path. After his breakthrough in Rosenborg, he went to Danish Midtjylland, where he impressed greatly. That earned him the move to Crystal Palace in the Premier League, but his stay in England was not a success. Loans to Belgian side Gent and Turkish Trabzonspor gave new impetus to his career, and it was in Turkey that he really flourished – with 33 goals in 49 games and top scorer in the SuperLeague.
Then followed the transfer to RB Leipzig, but even there it didn’t quite turn out as hoped. Next stop was Spanish Real Sociedad, where Sørloth really showed what he is good at. In the 2023/24 season, he was one of La Liga’s most goal-scoring attackers, and he became crucial to the Basques’ game with his strength, running power and clinical finishing.
Now he is facing what could be the biggest step of his career: a move to Juventus. For Sørloth, this is about more than just a change of club – it is a professional and personal challenge. “Our man” gets the chance to play for one of Europe’s most traditional clubs, with ambitions to win Serie A and assert himself in the Champions League. A move to Italy would also give him far greater international visibility, which could strengthen his position as one of Europe’s top strikers.
Sørloth is reportedly very motivated for the project, and he has shown a willingness to adapt quickly and contribute from day one. Serie A is seen as the perfect arena to show off its full potential, while Juventus need a striker who combines experience, physicality and goalscoring flair.
The personal must be in place and a first bid has been sent. – But, it has to be sold and with signals that both Jonathan David and Loïs Openda have decided to get on the back foot and stay, the whole deal is at a standstill.
RAi 1 reports in the morning hours today that the chaos at The Old Lady” has reached new heights in recent days and that they are not able to keep their promises to Alexander Sørloth, who is encouraged to find other solutions.
We already know that Newcastle have enquired about being a possible Alexander Isak replacement and that Liverpool, who now have Isak out of form, are actually thinking of Alexander Sorloth as a possible replacement for him there as well. – If Ipswich, who are just back in the Premier League, choose to get Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their new manager, the link there is very obvious.

Even if it doesn’t work out for Alexander Sørloth at Juventus, I doubt he will continue to be a super reserve at Atletico Madrid.
Also on the hunt for goalkeeper giant
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Juventus management is negotiating in parallel with one of the market’s most sought-after goalkeepers – Aston Villas and Argentina’s Emilio Martínez. The goalkeeper, who is in a class of his own when it comes to deciding games, not least on penalties, has stated that he thinks he is the best in the world.
With 1.95 meters tall Martínez between the sticks and 1.96 meters tall Sørloth at the top, Juventus are equipped to win the big duels at both ends of the pitch. The club is building a squad that will withstand tough matches and deliver on the biggest stages.
