Wolverhampton had a knife to their throat when they visited Leeds on Saturday afternoon. Not too many Premier League games ago, Leeds were also well on their way out of the top division. This game showed why Wolves haven’t been above the relegation zone since August and why the gang from Elland Road have climbed over that line by a reassuring margin.
Leeds’ James Justin struck with a delicious scissor-kicking goal after 18 minutes, the supporters had barely finished celebrating before Okafor put in the 2-0 score two minutes later. Brendon Aaronsen sent in a cross at the back post, where Noah Okafor appeared and headed the ball into the goal.

Wolverhampton were never a match for Daniel Farke’s players, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was not dragged this time… and could put an end to the game with a sure goal on a penalty kick in the 90th+5th minute to a 3-0 victory.
With that, Farke and Leeds could add three more points to the Premier League table, now eight points above the relegation zone with 5 games remaining.
Now Bournemouth awaits on Wednesday, then the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea next Sunday. Leeds have definitely risen!
We’re guessing coaching legend Marcelo Bielsa will unleash a smile when he sees his old club deliver Premier League level.
