Sevilla have new owners at the end of the season. – La Liga club has long lived in a financial and sporting crisis, a crisis that Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos together with a bunch of investors that new owners are thinking of solving.

The Norwegian first goalkeeper Ørjan Håskjold Nyland for both Seville and Norway is on an expiring contract and really only had one game to convince the new owners that he was to bet on. – On Saturday in the last day of the season, Sevilla traveled to the Estadio Abanca-Balaídos in the face of Celta Vigo. It was a loss after what must be one of the worst timed goalkeeper blunders of the year.

Now a few days before the contact of the 35-year-old goes out has been confirmed it is over.

The 35-year-old has been at the club since the summer of 2023. His contract officially expires on June 30. He himself calls the three years in Sevilla unforgettable, and he emphasizes that he has given everything for the club.

“It has been a tough, intense and exhausting period, but at the same time absolutely fantastic. Wearing this shirt in one of the world’s biggest clubs is a privilege that few are afforded. A little boy from Norway had a dream of playing in one of the world’s best leagues and experiencing the Champions League. In Seville, that dream became a reality.

Uncertain future – but the World Cup awaits

It is currently unknown what will be the next stop for the goalkeeper. He is Norway’s indisputable first goalkeeper, and first awaits this summer’s World Cup in football.

Nyland is one of the major uncertainties in the Norwegian World Cup squad. He has only played five games in La Liga this season.
