Neymar will never forget Ørjan Nyland. When one of the world’s most high-profile players scored on a penalty after the Norwegian national team goalkeeper had gotten under the skin of the Brazilian with his fluent Spanish, Neymar celebrated like he had won the match. A few long minutes later, Norway could wave goodbye to Neymar and Brazil, it was Nyland, Haaland and the gang who had played their way to the quarter-finals of the World Cup. Not surprisingly, they are working hard to position themselves for the signing of free agent Nyland.
He is 35, without a job, has a season behind him with just over six hundred minutes in the match arena at Sevilla, and everything was in place for Nyland to have a tough job finding the club that matches his ambitions. After some rock-solid games in the World Cup, topped off by the world-class match against Brazil, several Premier League clubs are on track.

One is Leeds United.
Former chief scout for Man United, Mick Brown, believes Leeds are a candidate to go for Nyland signing.
Brown said last month that a new goalkeeper is a top priority for Farke, with the aim of strengthening the squad to steer clear of another grueling relegation battle.
Concerns surrounding both Lucas Perri and Karl Darlow have forced Leeds into the market, where they have considered a number of potential signings.
“They’ve been aware that they need a new goalkeeper, and scouts have been keeping an eye on some of their goals, while also keeping an eye on the World Cup,” the former chief scout told Football-Insider.

-Norway’s goalkeeper, Ørjan Nyland, has had an outstanding tournament so far, and I would have been very surprised if he was not someone they had watched. If he could perform for Leeds as he has done for Norway so far, he would be a significant upgrade over their current options. His age is probably not ideal, he wouldn’t be a signing for the future, but on a free transfer it’s definitely something to explore,” Brown said.
