The Iranian volleyball team has been in a very serious crisis for a long time. Not long ago it was the top team in the world, today it is mediocre at best. Ataei Nour Behrouz, who resigned, is no longer the national team coach. The search for a successor is ongoing.

According to the Italian portal “ivolleymagazine.it”, Behrouz’s potential successors may be Stephane Antiga or Andrea Anastasi. They are on the list of several names that the Iranian federation is seriously considering. The new coach will most likely sign a four-year contract to try to advance not only to next year’s Olympic Games in Paris, but also to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

After failing to qualify for the Olympics, where it took penultimate place, Iran must now count on a high position in the FIVB ranking. Iran ranks only 15th. The Nations League will be crucial for the team’s fate.
