Karl Hein joined Arsenal already in 2018, and since then he has made it all the way from the club’s academy to the first team.
Over the past few years, the Estonian international goalkeeper has gained experience from different clubs through loans, while also continuing his development at the London club.
Now it is clear that his time at Arsenal is coming to an end.

Arsenal announce Hein is leaving the club permanently for Werder Bremen. The transfer will be completed in July and means that the goalkeeper will remain at the German club after this year’s loan period.
The road from Estonia to the Premier League
The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from Estonian side Nõmme United in the summer of 2018. One year later, he signed his first professional contract with the club.
His first-team debut came in November 2022, when Arsenal faced Brighton & Hove Albion in the League Cup at the Emirates Stadium.
Loan stays in Germany, England and Spain
For the past season, Hein has been on loan at Werder Bremen. There were two games in the Bundesliga.
Previously, he has also been on loan to English side Reading in the Championship and to Spanish side Real Valladolid.
In Valladolid, the goalkeeper got regular playing time and made 32 appearances in all competitions during his stay at the Spanish club.
Permanent fixture on the national team
At national team level, Hein has been an important player for Estonia. So far, he has played 45 A-caps for his home country.
