England international players have been told that they will be just as visible and relevant for international play if they play for any of the big clubs out in Europe. – This has until now been a concern for Morgan Rogers, which arouses great interest both in the Premier League and among European big clubs.

According to talkSPORT, it is likely that Rogers will leave in the summer – even if Aston Villa were to secure Champions League play. Now, the 23-year-old is signalling that he is just as open to an adventure abroad as he is to staying in England following the message from national team boss Thomas Tuchel.

Paris Saint-Germain have joined the ranks of real suitors, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea also following the young attacking midfielder closely.

Rogers scored against PSG as Aston Villa lost 3-1 at the Parc des Princes in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season. He is said to have been deeply impressed by the atmosphere in the stands. Rogers does not rule out a move away from England, and that he admires PSG manager Luis Enrique.

PSG are still considering whether to go for a new winger or a ten in the summer transfer window. Désiré Doué and Khvitsja Kvaratskhelia are not for sale, and Bradley Barcola wants the French champions to keep. Thus, PSG may instead be tempted to prioritise a striker – but Rogers is a player they are following very closely.

Rogers thrives both as a ten and as a left winger, and he is likely to be available for at least £80 million in the summer. That amount could quickly rise if several clubs end up in a bidding war for his signature.

Villa will not put obstacles in Rogers’ way. He has an excellent relationship with both manager Unai Emery and the club’s management – a relationship that led to a one-year extension as recently as last summer. The fact that Rogers still has a good contract until 2031 gives Villa a strong negotiating position. Still, all parties are open to parting ways – even if Villa secure Champions League football next season.

The background is partly that a sale of Rogers will help Aston Villa balance the accounts. With that in mind, a transfer is far from unthinkable before this summer’s World Cup.

Top clubs are queuing up to hijack the Villa star

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are also very interested. The former two are looking for a left-winger who can go straight into the team, while Chelsea want a new creative midfielder – a need that could become even more precarious if Enzo Fernández is sold in the summer. Recently, Manchester City were also linked with the English world champion.

Rogers is well known to Jason Wilcox, as Manchester United’s sporting director played a role in his development at City. Michael Carrick was manager at Middlesbrough when Rogers was brought there.

Arsenal are expected to sell Gabriel Martinelli and/or Leandro Trossard in the summer, freeing up both room in the squad and wage costs to bring in a new winger. The Gunners are also considering Anthony Gordon at Newcastle and Kvaratskhelia. The former is a target for Bayern Munich, while PSG do not want to receive bids for the Georgian winger – making him a difficult signing.

Liverpool also appreciate Rogers, but are not yet as active as other suitors. Arne Slot’s team are prioritising a right winger to replace the outgoing Mohamed Salah, while Luis Díaz left for Bayern in the summer. PSG are also following the Leipzig winger, who is yet to sign a new contract and stay for another year.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with Rogers, but the German giants are currently more focused on Gordon. It remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga champions can match Newcastle’s price tag. With Díaz and Michael Olise in good form, a new winger will have to fight for immediate game time.

Rogers in the middle of a dream season

Rogers has been an invaluable piece in Aston Villa’s glittering season, making 48 appearances in all competitions. He has 12 goals and nine assists. Villa are in a solid 4th place on their way to Champions League qualification via the Premier League, and also have a Europa League semi-final against Nottingham Forest to look forward to.

Rogers is fully focused on finishing the season strong – and preferably with a trophy – before this summer’s World Cup. He has never pushed for a transfer, but there are still many indications that he will be one of the most talked about transfers in the summer window.
