There is a lot going on in Real Madrid on the day Pope Leo visited the Santiago Bernabeu and Adidas has extended their sponsorship until 2024. Today came the press release confirming that main sponsor Emirates will continue as shirt sponsor until 2031 despite a couple of seasons without trophies.

Real Madrid have secured one of the biggest sponsorship deals in the club’s history and are also making La Liga history.

The exclusive airline has been a faithful partner of the royal club since 2011, and an official shirt sponsor since 2013. Now they are taking their collaboration to new heights. The extension makes Emirates the longest-running shirt sponsor in La Liga’s history – a record that says everything about the trust between the parties.

The agreement covers both the men’s and women’s teams, and the Emirates logo will adorn the shirts in all of the club’s biggest competitions: La Liga, Champions League, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España. But it doesn’t stop there.

Exclusive lounge and talent development

At the Santiago Bernabéu, Emirates gets visibility beyond the ordinary. The deal includes brand exposure in the stadium, a very own Emirates Lounge, and access to the club’s training facilities. The youth teams are also part of the package – something that will help develop tomorrow’s stars.

In addition, Emirates is expanding its involvement in the Real Madrid family. The company will also be the main sponsor of the club’s basketball team until 2031.

Pérez: “One of the most successful periods”

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is naturally delighted.

“Our partnership reflects the strong and unique relationship we have built over the years. We have stood together during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history, and now we continue the journey together,” says Pérez.

A giant in the sports world

Emirates is not just anyone in the world of sports. The company is the main sponsor or shirt sponsor for big clubs such as Arsenal, AC Milan, Benfica and Lyon, and is also a Platinum Partner of Bayern Munich.

But football is only one piece of a larger puzzle. Emirates has one of aviation’s largest sports portfolios – with involvement in everything from tennis, rugby and basketball to golf, cycling, sailing, equestrian, cricket and Australian football.

For Real Madrid, the deal is about more than money. It’s about prestige, global reach – and a partnership that has already lasted for over a decade, and will now last for at least as many more years.

The agreement is said to have a value of approximately 100 million euros a year.
