At the beginning of February, Liverpool confirmed they had signed Jeremy Jacquet, with the Rennes player travelling to Anfield after the season. Flashed as the successor to Virgil van Dijk and with a £60 million price tag after 32 games at senior level, everything changed for the 20-year-old.

Not long after signing with Liverpool, a shoulder injury hit him that kept the player out for the rest of the season. Now the Frenchman is back, and has had his first tour of Liverpool’s training ground.

“I feel very good. The first impressions are good, and I look forward to starting a new everyday life here. When I see the facilities, I can picture myself in it, so I just can’t wait to get started,” the new Liverpool player begins to the club’s website.

-It’s a huge dream come true for me. Liverpool is a big club, says young Jacquet.

We hope the 20-year-old will be physically ready for the world’s toughest league. It took Liverpool’s coaching staff more than six months to get Florian Wirtz into the physique needed to cope with the punch, pace and intensity of the Premier League.
