Manchester United will be busy in the summer transfer window – and it’s not just about bringing in new stars. At least as many will be leaving the club.
And GIVEMESPORT writes that as many as seven players have been placed on the transfer list this summer, for various reasons.

Carrick ready for permanent boss responsibility
All indications are that Michael Carrick will get the job on a permanent basis when the season is over. He has impressed greatly in his interim period, after taking over from the sacked Ruben Amorim in January.
Carrick will have a big influence on the transfers this summer. He has already lifted United to third place in the Premier League, and the team is now eight points ahead of sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion. The aim is to secure a place in the top five and thus qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Six points from the remaining five games will secure a place in Europe’s most prestigious tournament – and with it a significant financial gain when the transfer window opens.
The first three-pointer is possible on Monday, when Manchester United host Brentford at Old Trafford.
Top priority: Midfield – but competition from city rivals
The top priority this summer is to bring in one or two central midfielders. Elliot Anderson is the first target, but United face stiff competition from Manchester City for his signature. It could be necessary to fork out a whopping £125 million to get a deal off the ground.
In addition, United will try to sign a striker and a left-back.

Four stars finished at the club
Four players will leave the club when their contracts expire in the summer. Goalkeeper Tom Heaton, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are all following Casemiro out the door.
Wants to get rid of more
However, United are also keen to sell more players. It has long been reported that Manuel Ugarte could be on his way out, and the Red Devils are open to bids for the Uruguayan midfielder. Ugarte made his first start under Michael Carrick in the 2-1 defeat to Leeds, but otherwise his appearances this spring have been mostly sporadic appearances from the bench.
Rashford – on his way to being sold?
Marcus Rashford has been on loan at Barcelona this season, and the Spanish giants have an option to buy £26 million. However, negotiations remain on a final price, and Barcelona want to push the sum down. United, however, are in a tough position.
Onana finished at United
The other player on Manchester United’s transfer list is goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Cameroonian, like Rashford, has spent the season away from Old Trafford – on loan to Turkish club Trabzonspor. Meanwhile, Senne Lammens has come in and made the number 1 shirt his own. United now want to part ways with Onana for good.
Can make a good profit on sales
Manchester United can bring in good money from these departures. £26 million is guaranteed if Barcelona choose to exercise the option to buy international Rashford. That will give United considerable bargaining power when they go out in search of reinforcements themselves.
