The Norwegian striker Alexander Sørloth has a way of finding his way to goals, last season, as a Villarreal player he came second on La Liga’s top scorers list. Sørloth has continued to score goals, but to a lesser extent, manager Diego Simeone has chosen to use the 29-year-old as a kind of super reserve, while promising more playing time going forward.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as newly appointed manager Besiktas wants Alexander Sørloth this January, a wish that is welcomed by the club’s board. – They still have fresh memories of what it was like to be on the opposite side of “the Norwegian Viking” when he in the 2019/2020 season for Trabzonspor became the top scorer in the Süper Lig.

The realization that it may be difficult to secure Alexander Sørloth has brought the club on to the Swedish striker Victor Edvardsen. He has accounted for five goals and three assists in 22 games for Dutch Go Ahead Eagles so far this season.

Rumours abound in the Turkish media that Edvardsen is looking for a transfer to Besiktas.

Turkish journalist Tuğba Hacıbayramoğlu that Edvardsen is on Besiktas’ list of other options for the striker position.

The reason for the interest in Edvardsen is that Solskjaer’s assistant coach Erling Moe is a great admirer of the Swede. Moe is said to have wanted to sign Edvardsen on several occasions during his time as coach in Norwegian Molde.

Victor Edvardsen has previously represented clubs such as Degerfors and Djurgården in Sweden. The 29-year-old grew up in IFK Göteborg. – He will of course be easier and cheaper to bring out than Alexander Sørloth, after all, he plays for a Dutch backyard club.
