This summer, Luka Modric walked out of the San Bernabeu after a “football lifetime” at Real Madrid. Some thought the Croatian superstar would step down in MLS or with desert football, but the playmaker chose AC Milan and Serie A. In his first interview as a Miilan player, he swept aside all doubts that he is stepping down: “I come to win titles”. Nine months later, Modric has turned 40, stands as one of the season’s best Milan players – and makes three demands to stay.
The 40-year-old has been on the pitch in virtually every Serie A game, already with 2666 minutes at the match arena midway through April. Milan negotiated an option for a further year, but this assumes that Mordic himself wants it. It is reported that the Croatian is thriving in Italy and Milan, but makes demands to continue after the end of the season.

Last season it was a tenacious 8th place and without a ticket to play in Europe. With five games left – and Modric in the squad – Milan, in 3rd place, have a five-point gap to Como in 5th place. Modric does not sign on the potential to play in the Champions League next season, he demands it.
Because according to Italian Sky Sports , Modric makes three demands: That AC Milan qualify for the Champions League next season, that head coach Massimiliano Allegri stays on and that the club must then present a competitive project.
Massimiliano Allegri has a contract with AC Milan until the summer of 2027, but he has recently been linked with the vacant Italian national team coaching job.
