They signed Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer before the season, but the former Liverpool defender has failed to make the desired impact. He has also not been a regular starter for the La Liga club.
Tim, on the other hand, has established himself as a key player for Arsenal, and Real Madrid believe he has an elite profile. The Dutch defender can operate on both sides of the pitch and he could be an outstanding signing for Real Madrid. But Arsenal see him as an “untouchable” asset and are not willing to enter into negotiations. It will be difficult for Real Madrid to get a deal done.
At the same time, Arsenal are determined to keep him at the club, and they are preparing to offer him a new deal with a “record-high” salary increase.
It remains to be seen whether the defender is willing to commit his long-term future to the London club. He joined the club for a transfer fee of €40 million in 2023, and he has a contract with Arsenal until 2028. The new deal could increase his salary to £220,000 a week.
The report further claims that Arsenal will only open talks about the defender if an offer of around €100 million is made. It is highly unlikely that Real Madrid will pay that kind of money for a fullback, and therefore the transfer seems unlikely.
