Crystal Palace already know that they will have to do without Oliver Glasner next season – and now they have their sights set on his successor at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles are in mid-table after a mixed Premier League season, but are also in a European semi-final. In the coming weeks, they will face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Conference League.

But no matter how the season ends, Glasner will disappear. His contract expires at the end of the season, and now the south London club have reportedly found the man they want on the coaching bench next season.
Crystal Palace want Rosenior – after Chelsea sacking
According to a report from Football Insider, Crystal Palace have identified Liam Rosenior as their desired replacement for Oliver Glasner – despite the fact that he was just sacked at Chelsea.
The former Strasbourg boss, who has been described as a “tactical genius”, was sacked by Chelsea after a horrific run of results. He was hired in January and only managed 106 days as manager at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea sack Rosenior – while bigger problems simmer in the wings
In an interview with Football Insider, journalist Pete O’Rourke revealed that Palace have been enthusiastic about Rosenior ever since the teams met in the Conference League earlier this season. The club could try to persuade him to join in the summer – although he is expected to take a break from football as things stand.
“It’s interesting. The Palace connection came about after Palace played Strasbourg in the Conference League,” O’Rourke said.
“Strasbourg won that game. Palace felt they should have won, but Rosenior – the way his team was organised – was really impressive.
“Palace took notice of it and potentially considered him as a replacement for Oliver Glasner. They were very interested and liked what they saw from him both there and at Hull City.
“But there have been indications that he will take a break from football after he left Chelsea. That could force Palace to look elsewhere. This will definitely be a story to watch for Palace – if not now, then probably in the future.

Rosenior would have been an odd appointment for Crystal Palace
Rosenior showed that he has something to offer during his time as manager in France. But his problems at Chelsea suggest that he hasn’t quite got everything working yet.
His style of play didn’t work in the Premier League. Palace need someone to come in and get up to speed immediately at Selhurst Park – to build on the momentum from the last two seasons. There’s no guarantee that Rosenior will be able to do that. And the pressure around him will be greater than ever, which means more scrutiny than normal.
Palace will have to look carefully for their next boss, rather than rush into hiring. But as it stands, Rosenior is high on their list.
