It won’t be easy for Liverpool and certainly not cheap for Liverpool to find a replacement for Mohamed Salah, no matter who they end up with. “The competition is fierce for anyone who comes close to filling the shoes of one of the best strikers of all time.
After Saturday’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Anfield, Liverpool are a big step closer to Champions League qualification next year, which is necessary to secure the biggest stars.
Liverpool believe they have found one in RB Leipzig striker Yan Diomande and have already been in dialogue.

The Ivory Coast international is the main target to replace Mohamed Salah, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
Although Leipzig want to keep Diomande after his impressive debut season, the interest from Europe’s biggest clubs is likely to force the Bundesliga side to sell this summer.
Leipzig are said to value Diomande at around €100 million, which would make him the club’s most expensive sale ever.
Both Liverpool and PSG in meetings – United have “cooled off”
According to Bild, Diomande’s new agency, Roc Nation, is “already in the process” of preparing for a possible transfer. They have had meetings with both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. Both clubs are said to be particularly interested in the 19-year-old winger, while interest from Manchester United has “cooled” in recent weeks – their priority is still midfield.
Diomande joined Leipzig from Spanish club Leganes last summer, and has since established himself as one of the most promising young wingers in the world.
The always surprising 19-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in 30 Bundesliga games this season. He shares first place among Leipzig players in the goal league.

Father’s dream: “Wants to see his son at Anfield”
Diomande has previously revealed that he is open to a move to Liverpool in the future, and that it is his father’s “dream” to see him play at Anfield.
Liverpool have identified a replacement for Salah as one of their most important tasks ahead of the summer. A new left-back could also be on the agenda.
Andy Robertson is expected to leave the club on a free transfer, and he appears to be well-positioned to join Tottenham – provided they avoid relegation.
The irony is that former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as head of Red Bull’s Global Football Investments has the last word.
