Despite things looking much better at Old Trafford after Michael Carrick’s arrival as manager until the summer, Manchester United are stepping up their summer renewal. This week, new talks will be held about a quadruple exit – which will be the start of as many as ten departures.
United are looking to sign two new midfielders in the summer, as well as a centre-back, a left-back and a left-winger. Depending on sales and market opportunities, they could also go for a new right-back and a backup goalkeeper.

To fund these newcomers – and not least free up a place in the A squad – INEOS needs to get rid of the players it no longer wants. Samuel Luckhurst, who now writes for The Sun, reports that the Red Devils are “scheduled to meet this week to discuss departures.”
The report adds: “United staff intend to provide clarity on the future of individual players in order to pave the way for smooth transitions.”
Onana, Zirkzee, Rashford and Ugarte are allowed to find new clubs
André Onana, Joshua Zirkzee, Marcus Rashford and Manuel Ugarte are all free to find new clubs. Onana, Zirkzee and Ugarte cost the club a combined £134 million, while Barcelona have an option to buy Rashford permanently for €30 million (around £26 million) in the summer.
Flop goalkeeper Onana is currently on loan at Trabzonspor, who would like to keep him permanently. However, United will have to endure a heavy financial loss on Onana – they originally paid £47 million for him.
We confirmed on April 7 that United are ready to approve a sale of Zirkzee. Sources state that Juventus are battling up to six clubs in a transfer that could be “complicated”. We revealed on April 20 that INEOS sees a highly-scoring Premier League striker as a dream replacement for Zirkzee.
Recent reports claim that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ready to get rid of midfielder Ugarte in the summer, after seeing him live in action.

Ugarte, Rashford and Sancho on their way out
Ugarte could face Onana in the Turkish Super League next season – he is wanted by Galatasaray. Tottenham Hotspur are said to be ready to negotiate for Rashford, if Barcelona do not make the transfer permanent.
Despite Barcelona having a €30 million purchase option, they would rather extend their loan deal for another season. This has not gone down well with the United management, who want the money up front.
Luckhurst’s report adds that Altay Bayındır and Toby Collyer will also be sold, while Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Napoli is expected to be permanent for £38 million.
The list of ten departures is completed by Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia – all of whom will be released.
