Michael Carrick will get a solid reinforcement of the midfield as a permanent Manchester United. At Manchester City, incoming manager Enzo Maresca should get the same. Elliot Anderson is in the plan of both Manchester clubs, now there are reports of a new turn in the signing battle.
It has gone from Manchester United management being “confident in signing Anderson”, to reports from the English media that the 23-year-old himself wants to join City, that the United management has then given up on the fight, to Manchester City having had the first bid rejected. Now The Guardian reports that the battle for the England international is far from over.

According to the English newspaper’s sources, the United management believes that the club can beat city rivals City in the battle for the central midfielder. Talksport reports City are preparing a second bid for Anderson. The club is willing to pay just over £80 million, while Nottingham Forest are pushing for £100+ million.
Manchester United could spend up to £300 million in the summer transfer window. Then we’ll see if the Red Devils are willing to spend around a third on Anderson to win the game against their city rivals. The belief that it happens, it is there.
