Manchester United, as things seem to be going well again, are ready to make big changes when the season is over.
Manchester United are preparing to let as many as 13 players leave the club in the summer – in what could be their most dramatic transfer window in modern times.

United are currently third in the Premier League and will be hoping to secure a Champions League place for the first time since 2023. The 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend means Michael Carrick’s side need six points from their last five games to clinch a top-five finish. – On Monday, they host Brentford at Old Trafford.
It’s a remarkable turnaround, given how weak the form and mood around Carrington was under the previous manager, Ruben Amorim.
Full focus on summer: in and out
Once the European game is in the box, all attention will turn to the summer transfer window – and how the Red Devils will strengthen themselves. United finish this season with just 40 games, the lowest number in over 20 years. A larger squad will be needed to handle a tighter fixture schedule.
However, INEOS is fully aware that player sales are just as important as new signings when it comes to adding up. According to The Express, United will allow 13 of the current registered players to look for new challenges.

These 13 players could disappear
Casemiro has already confirmed that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are expected to do the same.
Sancho, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, earns £300,000 a week along with Casemiro – and is by far among United’s highest-paid players. For the same reason, United want to invest in Marcus Rashford. Barcelona have an option to make his loan deal permanent.
Rasmus Hojlund’s time in Manchester seems to be coming to an end. Napoli’s commitment to buy the Dane is now described as a “formality”.
Goalkeeper rotation and young talents on the way out
The arrival of Senne Lammens last summer allowed André Onana to go on loan, sending Altay Bayindir to the bench – despite starting the first six Premier League games. Both goalkeepers are expected to leave the club, and academy player Radek Vítek is also expected to seek more regular game time after a promising loan spell at Bristol City.
Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte, both signed by INEOS in 2024, have fallen through the hierarchy and are unpopular with fans. INEOS’ policy has been to give new signings two years to prove themselves – so far neither has impressed.
Toby Collyer has spent the spring on loan at Hull City and has previously attracted interest from Championship clubs. Academy players Tyler Fredricson – who made his debut under Amorim in 2025 – and Dan Gore, who has not played since 2023, are also expected to continue their careers outside of United.
