Robert Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona is still uncertain with a lot of back and forth in madie. Last week, more information came from Spain that the La Liga leader is looking for a replacement. Among others, Atlético Madrid’s Alexander Sørloth and Mallorca’s Vedat Muriqi were mentioned.

Earlier this Monday, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Robert Lewandowski has a meeting booked with Juventus this week, and that a signing is planned at the San Siro for talks with Inter Milan to be interested in the striker.

But Sky Sports has a completely different story to tell. Barcelona have now decided: They want to extend Lewandowski’s deal by one year, until the summer of 2027.

The information is that the club will probably offer a contract with a lower salary than the current one, but that it is not expected to be a problem for the player, who already accepted before Christmas that he would soon move into a slightly different role with a lower salary. Concrete negotiations between the parties are expected to start shortly.

MLS club Chicago Fire have already made an offer for Lewandowski. Several Saudi Arabian clubs are also said to be interested in the goal king’s signature.

The 37-year-old joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022. This season, he has 17 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions.
