Gattuso failed to qualify Italy for the World Cup after a play-off loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to Italian media, Sarri is on his way to take over Atalanta in the near future, while former Rangers midfielder Gattuso is now taking over Lazio.

Sarri ends his second spell at the club
Sarri ends his second spell at the capital club after one season – a season that ended with a cup final loss to Inter Milan and a ninth-place finish in Serie A.
His brief return stands in stark contrast to Sarri’s first spell at the club, which lasted three years (2021–2024). Then he led the team to a second place in the league in 2023, before leaving the club for family reasons.
Gattuso has Serie A experience from Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina
Gattuso (48) began his coaching career in Switzerland and has Serie A experience from AC Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina.
The change of manager at Lazio comes just days after AC Milan and manager Massimiliano Allegri parted ways – the day after the Serie A season ended. In a busy period for Italian football, Antonio Conte has also confirmed that he is leaving Napoli.
